Students

  • Students may play for their home clubs & their European club if they complete a Student transfer form. see forms for each group below.

  • A student transfer lasts for one calendar year, students must re-apply for a new permit once the calendar year (31st March) is complete.

  • Students are asked to list the dates on which they will be finished their placement. It is mandatory to fill in these dates.When do you begin and when will you depart.

  • STUDENTS MUST FILL IN THEIR STUDY PERIOD DATES THEMSELVES

    1. Get player to sign 

    2. New club secretary signs form & sends to old club

    3. Old club secretary signs & sends to the players old county secretary 

    4. Old county secretary signs & sends to players new county Secretary 

    5. New county secretary signs

    6. Transfer sent to Croke Park for approval 

Studnents

GAA Transfer Rules 

  • GAA = male footballers & male hurlers only.

  • Student transfers should be completed using the forms at the bottom of this page.

  • GAA transfer can now be completed entirely online, on the Player Transfer System (linked below)

    • This process only applies for male player transferring from Ireland into Europe

  • If you are transferring a player from another GGE club, you must use the physical document linked in the Inter-European section below this.

  • Transfers are allowed throughout the calendar year.

  • All Inter-County and Inter-Club (European) transfers must be fully completed a minimum 7 days before a game or tournament – this allows for the 3 day appeal period after a transfer is approved

Inter-European Transfers 

  • Inter-Europan transfers apply to players transferring from one GGE club to another GGE club 

  • STEPS 

    1. Get player to sign 

    2. New club secretary signs form & sends to old club

    3. Old club secretary signs & sends to the players old county secretary 

    4. Old county secretary signs & sends to the players new county Secretary 

    5. New county secretary signs

    6. Transfer sent to Croke Park for approval 

GGE

Camogie Transfers

  • Transfers are allowed throughout the calendar year.

  • No Transfer required if player hasn’t played with any club within last 2 years (24months)

  • If transferring from an Irish club, the player’s transfer must be approved by the camogie Association HQ and then she must be registered by her European club three days before the tournament/game – in other words the Transfer/Permit must be approved in Dublin by the Wednesday before tournament/game. Use the ‘camogie Inter-county’ transfer form.

  • Transfers between clubs in Europe must use the ‘Inter-Club (European)’ form and be approved within the same deadline.

  • A player may play with her home Club in Ireland and a Club in her European Country of study and vice versa, provided she is participating in a recognised programme of study in another European Country, or Ireland, of at least three months duration and she obtains permission from Camogie HQ. Use the ‘Camogie Student Permit’ form

  • STEPS 

    1. Get player to sign

Camogie

LGFA Transfers 

  • Transfers are allowed throughout the calendar year.

  • Any player who has played within a 3 year period needs a transfer – if coming from Ireland this is the ‘LGFA Inter-Club’ Transfers between clubs in Europe must use the ‘Inter-Club (European)’ form  – transfers are needed if player has played with another club within a 3 year period. All LGFA transfers must have be approved by the Wednesday before tournament/game.

  • Student permits are allowed for Irish students attending a European university (min.12 weeks) – Deadline is 18:00 CET on the Wednesday before tournament/game – use the LGFA Student Permit form. The player must also supply proof of study from the European University.

  • A player who wishes to leave one club and play with another club must apply for a transfer. However, a player who has not played League or Championship football for a period of 3 years is exempt from transfer rules provided other eligibility conditions are satisfied

  • STEPS 

  1. Get player to sign
